Returns
fourteen days to change your mind, and separately, a right to a remedy whenever something is actually wrong with what we sent. those are two different things and they work differently.
Changing your mind
you can cancel an order for any reason, or for no reason at all, within 14 days of the day the goods are delivered. you do not have to tell us why. this is your right under the consumer contracts regulations 2013.
once you have told us you are cancelling, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back. tell us first, then post them; a parcel that arrives with no word from you is hard to match to an order.
where an order was delivered in more than one parcel, the fourteen days run from the day the last parcel arrived.
How to start one
email us with your order reference and what you are sending back. the reference is on your order confirmation and looks like SL-XXXX-XXXX. we will reply with the return address and confirm what we are expecting.
get a receipt from whoever you post it with, and keep it until your refund has landed. until the parcel reaches us, proof that you sent it is the only thing that proves it.
Condition
you are allowed to handle the goods the way you would in a shop: try a jersey on, see whether the cap fits, check the colour in daylight. that is what the fourteen days are for.
you are not buying the right to wear something out and send it back. if the value of the goods has been reduced by handling that goes beyond examining them, we may reduce your refund by that amount, and we will tell you the figure and why before we do it.
send things back with their tags on and in their packaging where you still have it. the packaging is not a condition of your refund, but it is how a garment survives the journey.
Postage
when you are changing your mind, return postage is yours to pay. we recommend a tracked service; the goods are your responsibility until they reach us.
when the goods are faulty, wrongly described or not what you ordered, return postage is ours. do not pay it and then ask us to reimburse you — tell us first and we will arrange it.
Your refund
we refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you showing us you have sent them, whichever comes first. it goes to the same payment method you used, and we do not charge a fee for issuing it.
your refund includes the standard delivery you paid on the way out. if you chose an express service, we refund what standard would have cost, not the express premium: the faster service is something you bought and we delivered.
cancelling part of an order does not refund the delivery charge, because we still shipped the parcel.
When something is faulty
this is a separate right and it is not the fourteen days. under the consumer rights act 2015 the goods we send must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
- within 30 days of delivery, you can reject faulty goods and ask for a full refund.
- after 30 days and within six months, we get one opportunity to repair or replace. if that does not fix it, you can have a refund. in that window a fault is assumed to have been there when you got it unless we can show otherwise.
- after six months the same rights exist, but it falls to you to show the fault was there from the start.
none of this costs you postage, and none of it is affected by whether you still have the packaging.
Things we cannot take back
goods made or personalised to your specification, and sealed goods that are not suitable for return on hygiene grounds once the seal is broken. nothing in the current range is made to order, so in practice this will rarely apply.
this exclusion never applies to faulty goods. a fault is a fault whatever the item is.
If we cannot agree
tell us what you think we have got wrong and we will look at it again properly. none of this page takes away your statutory rights, and nothing we say to you can.
delivery itself, including timings and where we ship, is on the delivery page.
